Tony Biancotti
Consultant
From the courtroom to the newsroom to the boardroom, Tony Biancotti is enjoying an exciting and varied career.
Tony is best known for his on-camera work as a jovial, jetsetting reporter for Channel Nine's national morning program TODAY. Behind the fun image is a focused professional with a serious background in news and law, supported by excellent academic credentials.
Tony graduated at the top of his year in Journalism at the University of Queensland, before finishing his Law Degree and working as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
He specialised in insurance law and litigation before craving more excitement and world travel. This led to him running away to join the media circus, and for the next fifteen years he gained broad experience in Australia and the United States in all three media print, radio and television.
Tony's media highlights include six years as a reporter/producer on TODAY, before being lured off-camera to be a field producer on Channel Nine's top rating prime-time travel show GETAWAY.
He also worked in politics as a Media Adviser to NSW Shadow Attorney General, Paul Whelan, in 1989, and trained with the Australian Defence Force to become an Accredited Defence Correspondent (ACCOR) in 1991.
Now Tony has found the ideal job as a Corporate Trainer with talkforce facilitating sessions in the boardrooms and training rooms of Australia's top companies. He brings together his years of practical experience in media, law and politics to specially tailor courses in Media Skills, Business Writing, Proposal Writing and Communication Skills.
Tony keeps connected and up to date with the changing media landscape. He is in demand as a Writing/Producing Instructor and Freelance Producer/Reporter for Channel Nine. He is often entrusted with helping develop and fast-track valuable network talent such as supermodel Megan Gale in her appearances on GETAWAY.
Tony has won several scholarships and awards for both his academic skills and his creative flair, including a Rotary Foundation Scholarship to study journalism and media law in the United States and first prize in a national radio award run by the prestigious RTNDA Radio Television News Director's Association (US).
